A number of excellent mushrooms are suitable for soup, most often soup is prepared from:

  • mushrooms,
  • porcini mushrooms,
  • buck,
  • dovecote,
  • fox,
  • butchers,
  • bedel

Both mushrooms freshly brought from the forest and dried mushrooms are suitable for the soup. Mushroom soup will always taste good if there are enough mushrooms and other ingredients in it. You can prepare mushroom soup with potatoes, but also without, you can prepare a classic mushroom soup or a creamy mushroom soup, which is softened with cream. Many of us surely remember from childhood how beautifully grandma’s mushroom soup smelled on the stove. The recipe for mushroom soup is also interesting, in which, in addition to mushrooms and potatoes, vegetables and finally an egg are added.

But we don’t only use mushrooms in soups. They are suitable for preparing meaty dishes, so you can use them under meat, you can also prepare mushroom goulash, mushroom risotto or mushroom sauceIn short, there is no food that mushrooms do not make special, every dish with mushrooms will be perfectly seasoned and will smell wonderful.

How long to cook mushrooms

Mushrooms are excellent, that’s for sure. But if they are not properly heat treated, they can cause unpleasant problems, especially digestive problems. Mushrooms are also quite heavy and harder for the stomach to digest, so they should not be eaten in the evening before going to bed.

Each type of mushroom must be sufficiently heat-treated before consumption, mushrooms should be boiled for at least twenty minutes, but it is better to let them cook for up to half an hour. Only then can we consume them without fear. The recommended heat preparation time applies to all mushrooms, i.e. fresh as well as dried ones.

Mushroom soup made from fresh mushrooms - what to serve with

The best mushroom soup is a complete meal and can fill us up just like a main meal when served with fresh bread. The mushroom soup is ideally served with fresh homemade bread or crispy sandwiches.

How can we prepare mushroom soup?

Homemade mushroom soup can of course be prepared from fresh mushrooms, the soup will always taste best with fresh mushrooms. Fresh mushrooms retain their typical aroma and taste even after heat treatment, and you can already smell the whole apartment while cooking. Of course, if you don't have fresh mushrooms available, don't be afraid to use dried or frozen ones.

Dried mushrooms need to be soaked in water before heat treatment, then you can easily add this water to the soup together with the mushrooms, which will enhance the aroma. Dried mushrooms end up smelling and tasting almost like fresh, and dried mushroom soup is just as great. But if you find frozen mushrooms in the freezer, you can of course use those too. But we often use frozen mushrooms to prepare other mushroom dishes.

Enjoy your meal!
